Isaiah 4:2

            2. \\#Isa 2:1-5:30\\ Judah’s Condition Described
                a. \\#Isa 2:1-5\\ God prophecies concerning Judah’s temple.
                b. \\#Isa 2:6-9\\ Judah’s sins are categorized.
                c. \\#Isa 2:10-22\\ Prophecies concerning Judah’s destruction.

                f. \\#Isa 4:2-6\\ Israel will trust the Lord. At this point, God
speaks of a period of blessings in Israel. These blessed
promises have been very rare so far, with only sections of
                    them \\#Isa 1:26-27, 2:1-2-4\\.

I. \\#Isa 2:1-5:30\\ Judah’s Condition Described
    A. \\#Isa 4:2-6\\ Israel will trust the Lord.
        1. \\#Isa 4:2\\ In that day…" - This is clearly an end time prophecy. It
describes the conditions in Israel under the Messiah’s reign.
        2. \\#Isa 4:2\\ "Branch of the Lord" - A prophetical reference to Jesus,
            the Jewish Messiah.
            (a) The idea of a "BRANCH" is that a new bud will come out of the line
of King David, offering new hope. Someone new and different will
come from the line of kings to help Israel. That Someone will
                 be Jesus.
            (b) The Branch is mentioned several times in the Old Testament.

Isaiah 11:1 There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch
shall grow out of his roots.

Jeremiah 23:5 "Behold, the days are coming," says the LORD, "That I will raise
to David a Branch of righteousness; A King shall reign and prosper, And execute
judgment and righteousness in the earth.

Jeremiah 33:15 ‘In those days and at that time I will cause to grow up to David
A Branch of righteousness; He shall execute judgment and righteousness in the
earth.

Zechariah 3:8 ‘Hear, O Joshua, the high priest, You and your companions who
sit before you, For they are a wondrous sign; For behold, I am bringing forth
My Servant the BRANCH.

Zechariah 6:12 "Then speak to him, saying, ‘Thus says the LORD of hosts,
saying: "Behold, the Man whose name is the BRANCH! From His place He shall
branch out, And He shall build the temple of the LORD;

        3. \\#Isa 4:2\\…for them that are escaped of Israel" - This is a
reference to those who escaped the tribulation and the persecutions
of the Antichrist. As difficult as Israel’s past as been, their
future is even more difficult. It is a shame that such heavy
blinders have been placed upon their eyes.
            a. Yet, one day, their blindness will be removed.

Romans 11:7 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but
the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded.

2Cor 3:14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same
vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away
in Christ.

            b. \\#Isa 4:3\\ …"he that is left in Zion… Jerusalem…" - Those left
will be the remnant who survived the great judgment.
        4. \\#Isa 4:3\\ The people "…shall be called holy…." The Jews who
returned from Babylon did attempt to serve the Lord, but the effort
was short lived and not according to the scale of what is described
            here.
        5. \\#Isa 4:4\\ "the Lord shall have washed away the filth… purged the
blood…." History records the many destructions of Jerusalem,
but it is the cleansing of Israel’s heart that has been missed.
God is promising a future cleansing which will be produced by their
             salvation during the tribulation.
        6. \\#Isa 4:5\\ "the Lord will create upon every dwelling place of Mount
Zion" - The salvation that Israel will receive will be universal,
that is, all will be partakers of it.
        7. \\#Isa 4:5\\ "smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night"
This is a description of the presence of the Lord as He was with
Israel when they came out of Egypt. Ezekiel records God’s glory, that
is His presence, leaving Israel \\#Ezekiel 10:4-11:24\\. Since that
time, the Lord has not renewed His presence upon that land as
described here. This is a future promise that God will again abide
upon this nation as He once did.
        8. \\#Isa 4:5\\ The presence and GLORY of God shall be their DEFENCE.
        9. \\#Isa 4:6\\ "And there shall be a tabernacle" - There will be a
literal temple, a place where the people can worship God without
being bother by the elements of weather.
       10. All of these verses describe a blessed day of salvation and worship
for the people of Israel. They will finally accept Jesus as their
Messiah and enjoy the presence and protection of their God again.
