For as many of you as have been baptized
into Christ have put on Christ.
Galatians 3:27
Much like Mark 16:16, this verse makes a true statement; but to accept it does not require one to believe baptism saves. To one who rejects Baptismal Regeneration, salvation is not mentioned in this verse at all. To them, the verse describes putting Christ into our lives and living according to the pattern of holiness He set for us.
A. Baptism is the first step of obedience for a Christian.
B. After we have been saved and started a walk of obedience, we have "put on Christ" and begun to imitate His life.
C. Salvation occurs BEFORE either "putting on Christ" or being baptized.
